Mr Iturriagagoitia is a Spanish lawyer. He earned his law degree from Barcelona University and obtained a Masters Degree in International Commercial Law from Georgetown University, Washington DC. He has focused his professional life on issues related with public and private international and EU law. He has completed since the early 1990s more than 40 assignments in the field of mainly EU funded technical assistance projects related to the negotiation and implementation of Free Trade Agreements in Africa, the Americas, Asia and Eastern Europe, and with setting up health organizations with a supranational element. Having served as Counsel at the ICC Court of International Arbitration, he is experienced in arbitration/conciliation procedures. Mr Iturriagagoitia has been practicing law mainly from his own offices in Brussels, Seville and Montevideo since Spain’s accession to the European Communities.

 

Mr Iturriagagoitia has been involved in devising the Quality Infrastructure Policy for Madagascar. He has also participated in numerous export/import promotion schemes for foreign products towards the EU markets dealing with TBT/SPS regulations, trade facilitation and contractual issues.

 

Mr Iturriagagoitia has been lecturing in Paris, Antwerp and Navarre Universities.
